Gum Disease Care and Prevention
In its early stages, gum disease, also known as gingivitis, can cause swelling, redness, and bleeding in the gums. If it is allowed to progress, gum disease can result in more that just an unsightly smile; it can lead to serious health problems. Gum disease is easiest to treat when it is caught in its early stages, but it is never too late to do something about it. We have many restorative and cosmetic procedures available to correct the problems caused by gum disease.
If teeth are damaged beyond the possibility of repair, it may become necessary to extract them. Overcrowded wisdom teeth may also need to be removed. Dr. Lee performs tooth extraction expertly and with the least possible amount of discomfort to the patient.
TMJ Treatment
TMJ is an abbreviation for the "temporomandibular joint," the joint where the jaw attaches to the rest of the skull. TMJ has also come to refer to a range of problems that can occur with this joint, resulting in such things as popping of the joint, difficulty opening the mouth, and radiating pain.
We offer TMJ treatment at our Fresno office in order to restore the balance between the joint and the teeth and muscles; this imbalance is one of the main causes of TMJ. Treatment for our Fresno patients who suffer from TMJ depends on the patient's particular case; each is different, so we offer a variety of TMJ treatment options. Fresno area residents who are suffering from TMJ should contact the office of Dr. Treva Lee to find out more about treatment options.
Root Canal Therapy
Before the invention of root canal therapy, a severely damaged or decayed tooth would certainly have had to be extracted. Now, dentists can save these teeth by performing a root canal. Fresno and Clovis area residents who have a tooth that is causing them problems should visit Dr. Treva Lee's office as soon as possible.
When the tissue inside of a tooth, known as the "pulp," becomes damaged, the tooth will quickly die and decay if the diseased pulp is not removed. When you have a root canal at our Fresno office, Dr. Lee will drill through the top of your tooth to expose the pulp. She will then remove the unhealthy pulp, fill the tooth, and restore the top of it with a crown. Contact us to find out more about root canal therapy in the Fresno and Clovis area.
Tooth Replacement
We offer a vast range of missing tooth-replacement options, including crowns, bridges, removable dentures, partial dentures, and implants. To find out which option is best for you, please contact our office today.
Dental Implants
Permanent Dental Implants
Dental implants help our Fresno area patients restore their smiles and the function of their teeth in a way that is natural-looking and -feeling, and is incredibly durable. Comprised of a porcelain crown attached to a metal anchor, dental implants are rooted directly into the jawbone, just like a natural tooth. This allows bone and gums to grow in around the anchor and the crown. Contact our office to find out more about dental implants in Fresno.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Overdentures are firmly held in place to increase speaking and chewing ability. A customized denture is attached to individual implants or a row of implants, securing the denture in place. They are natural-looking, long-lasting, and quite durable. To find out more about implant-supported dentures, please contact us today.
Implant Bridges
Would having a flawless smile increase your self-confidence? Are missing teeth preventing you from eating the foods you love? Well, implant bridges might be the perfect solution for you. These comfortable, effective bridges—which can either be removable or fixed—fit discreetly over dental implants, giving our Fresno patients maximum support. To find out if implant bridges are right for you, please contact us today.
Digital Dental X-Rays
Digital dental X-rays are much quicker and more convenient than the older style of X-rays. After the digital X-ray is taken, the images are instantly sent to a computer monitor, where your dentist will be able to review them with you. This does away with the inconvenience of waiting for X-rays to develop. Additionally, digital X-rays reduce the level of radiation exposure by up to 90 percent; the radiation levels from traditional X-rays are considered to be completely safe, but digital X-rays are safer still.
Advanced Diagnostics
We can now detect and monitor very tiny cavities using a laser detecting system. The system helps measure how deep a cavity is within a tooth. An early discovery helps save much of the tooth structure because a smaller filling is used.
Children's Dentistry
Sealants
Children’s teeth—especially back teeth—are susceptible to decay and cavities despite regular brushing and flossing. To protect your children’s teeth, consider sealants. These durable, clear products are painted over the teeth, adding strength and creating reinforcement. Sealants can significantly reduce decay! To learn more about sealants, please contact us today.
Fluoride Treatment
Experts concluded long ago that the mineral fluoride is quite effective in protecting teeth enamel from decay. For that reason, it is added to tap water and other products. But children—whose teeth are vulnerable—need extra fluoride to keep their enamel extra strong. Fluoride treatments are an excellent solution. Fluoride treatments, administered in trays or brushed onto the teeth, are quick and painless and are given immediately following professional cleanings. To learn more about fluoride treatments, please contact us today.
Fillings
We now not only offer tooth-colored fillings, but also amazing colors like blue, orange, pink, or sparkle white, which makes fillings more fun.
Functional Orthodontics
Jaw alignment can often be a problem for children, resulting in an overbite, an underbite, or a crossbite. Fortunately, we have a variety of bite appliances, both removable and fixed, to correct jaw misalignment or widen jaws that are too narrow. Contact our office today to find out more about functional orthodontics. |
